Installation (DIY)

1. We offer different styles of each product, you may easily find something that meet your demands.
2. Tools; gloves, tape measure, brush, pencil, brown builder's paper, tape, spirit level, notched trowel, knife, hand saw and surform.
3. Construction chemicals (both available in shops such as home depot etc.)

Cover all windows and floors and secure all switches, and electrical outlets. Bonding surface must be dry, clean and durable. Prime the surface before installation.

Installation of the tiles should be started from the bottom, leveling the first layer of the tiles. Laying tiles on a corner wall, must be always started from the corner - with a fugue facing top.

Before applying adhesive, each of the tile have to be cleaned properly with a surform for polystyrene. Then with the help of the brush, remove the dust from the tiles.

Use notched trowel to apply the adhesive on the tiles. Spread the glue over the entire surface, and it's excess remove with a notched trowel. After applying the adhesive on the tile, evenly press it to substrate and slightly move.

The gypsum tile is very easy to work with, for e.g. you may cut it with a hand saw.

After 24 hours from installation, spray whole surface with an impregnator liquid such as Concrete and Masonry High Gloss Sealer or Natural Look Waterproofing Sealer, both available in shops like Home Depot.

Before starting work, precisely measure and calculate the area of installation and buy about 10% more of materials and an appropriate amount of adhesive or grout for tiles with fugue and sealer.

If there's a need of corner tiles, 5% more must be purchased for waste, to the calculated area of installation. Purchase of required quantities of all materials guarantees repeatability of color of the tiles and grout.

The differences in colors and sizes between the elements in one package are intentional and adds facade of the natural appearance.

Tiles should be selected from several packages at the same time in order to ensure uniform distribution of shade.

The ambient temperature during laying tiles and 48 hours after laying tiles, should not be lower than 41°F and higher than 77°F.

Individual information does not apply to certain types of tiles.

NOTE: We are not responsible for incorrect installation, and complaints regarding the size and color after installation will not be accepted.

All substrates prior to installation should be properly prepared, have adequate load-bearing capacity, solid and uniform structure and be level, dry and cleaned of old paint, adhesive, release agents and lubricants - unstable coating must be removed.

Wall should be leveled before laying tiles.

The substrate must be sufficiently stable such as concrete, brick, chipboard, aerated concrete, plasterboard, etc.

Laying tiles should be started from corners or places most visible.

Back of the tile requires the removal of the raid gypsum formed during manufacture - use brush for e.g.

Laying tiles should be started from the bottom. In the case of absence of equal, horizontal support for the tiles, laying tiles begins from the settings, using a spirit level and patch level at a height of about 4 and 1/4 inches above the floor.

The best effect is achieved by laying tiles with offset relative to each other. We recommend a shift of about one third the length of the tile. Do not lay the tiles one under the other. See the image below:

Apply adhesive AcrylPro or VersaBond with a trowel in 3-4 places on the tile. Then press the tile by moving it slightly until evenly distribute the adhesive. Excess adhesive should be removed.

Cutting tile can be done with a hand saw.

Grouting (for gypsum tiles with joint only):

After drying of the adhesive (in the case of the entire facade, approximately 14 days after the tiling) grout is then applied in the gaps between tiles in accordance with the instructions on the grout's package. The best effect is obtained with a grout having a thickness less than the thickness of the tile.

In order to maintain a uniform color of one wall, grouting is best done in the same day or at the same weather. Applied grout's strength is achieved after at least 21 days - detailed instructions on the packaging of the grout.
